From October 20 to 22nd, we met for the first National Assembly (NA) of the 2023/2024 year in Bern. The theme of this NA was Nature, and was centred on exploring the autumn atmosphere in Switzerland’s capital. It is always a great opportunity for local association of ESN Switzerland to reunite, learn and vote on important decisions!

During this NA, ESN Switzerland members were able to participate in workshops, attend presentations and vote for the future of the association. Here are some of the topics that were voted on:

  • Budget of the National Organisation for the coming year

  • Changes of the Standing Orders and Statutes (SOS)

  • Candidacy on the Advisory Council, Financial Audit, Organising Committee for the NA II and the National Erasmus Games

Apart from the elections, members also had the opportunity to attend various workshops about different skills, such as time management and advocacy. On the last day, it was time to get physically active in a yoga session, a city walk or a dip in the Aare for the full Bern experience.

The most valued part of this NA was connecting with our fellow volunteers and getting to spend time and exchange with our passionate community. This first NA of the academic year has helped set the foundation for the coming months, and we cannot wait for the next edition in Neuchâtel, in March!
